This pillar is all about how to find and avoid the junk in our food system that causes stress on the body, but without feeling like you're depriving your child.
Is gluten ok? What about additives? What's the deal with GMOs? Should I give my child dairy or not? Do I need to go organic? What are the best brands? Can I trust a food label?
These are the kinds of questions you'll find answers to in this lesson.
Lesson 3: Pillar #2.
This pillar is all about Nutrient Density. You'll learn about the 8 nutrients needed for optimal development, what makes a healthy meal and how to tweak your favourite recipes to improve the nutrition.
What fats are best? What's a low glycemic carbohydrate? How much fibre is best? Is my child getting enough protein? What are the best sources of vitamins and minerals? Do we need nutritional supplements?
These are the kinds of questions you'll find answers to in this lesson.
Lesson 4:Pillar #3
Sugar and Blood sugar. The better we can manage blood sugar through the foods we feed our kids the better we can help them stabilize their energy, their weight, their mood, their sleep and anything else that is related to their hormones (even their skin and their appetite!).
How much sugar is ok? What kind is best? What information is helpful from the food label? What foods are best for blood sugar?
You'll get these answers here along with strategies to reduce the harmful effects of sugar.
Lesson 5: Pillar #4.
This pillar is all about digestive support. The digestive tract has been called "the seat of health" because what goes on there influences every single other system in the body!
What's the deal with probiotics? Do we need supplements for the gut? What about probiotic foods? What's this I keep hearing about the gut-brain connection? How can I get my child to poop better?!
We'll talk about this and all the other ways you can support healthy digestion.
